I'm Savannah Souders, a senior at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee studying Biology. This semester, I took a Chemistry and Microbiology of Beer course, where I was able to not only study the science behind beer, but also tour many local breweries and experience how the science we learned in the classroom was incorporated into the industry.

 

This website is a compilation of all the information I have learned this semester about the science behind the beverage we know and love as beer.

When I am not in class or studying, I enjoy spending time with my friends, family, and two dogs. My friends and I enjoy traveling whenever possible, and have been fortunate enough to visit many places in the United States. Our next goal is to travel abroad!

Along with my current job working for a family-owned business, I have been modeling on the side since 2016 and am currently signed with an agency in Orlando.

Following my undergraduate degree, I am planning on attending graduate school to become a physician assistant. I find medicine and the human body fascinating!

As I approach the end of my bachelor's degree, I was excited to incorporate this fun class in with all the upper level science classes required for graduation. Thank you to everybody who made this class possible!
